Last time I flew I sat next to a HUGE lady. She was unable to pull down the food down and my armrest next to her had to stay up. I've nothing against large people, of course, but I had an upset tummy and needed frequent trips to the loo. Every time I felt sick, I had to ask this poor lady (she was very patient)to get up and into the aisle, which took about 5 minutes. How I wasn't sick on her I'll never know! Luckily it was only a 4 hour flight!
Therefore, I suggest an aisle seat!
Have fun in Dallas!

Where do you like to sit on a plane and why?
by Crumpet ini'm trying to decide where i want to sit on the plane to dallas - i can choose online 24 hours beforehand but am not sure where is best for comfort, quiet, service, view.
is there anyway of predicting where any babies might be so i can be as far away as possible from them?.

Are We Too Loving To Be JWs?
by dedpoet inthis is a thought that i've been pondering on for a while now.
more than a few on this forum cite lack of love as one of the .
major reasons that they quit attending jw meetings, and while.

You're not wrong. I find the JWs (not all of them, I hasten to add) judgemental and critical more than loving and kind.
Especially with the shunning! I couldn't possibly shun my own kids, no matter what. Nor watch them die for the want of blood.
My elderly JW relative, who's in 'good standing' in the cong. has been housebound for around 3 years now. NO-ONE visits or takes her magazines or anything!! She hasn't seen a JW for nearly a year, not even at the memorial time. It's appalling.
Yet, her neighbours, non-JW relatives etc. all go to see her.
(I think JWs are kept too busy to bother anyway.)

I saw a few doing street work here just a few days ago, so I don't think they've stopped. (Unless, of course here in Wales they're super zealous and don't want to stop!!)

I finally caught one at their own game
by loosie inok so we all know how these jw's pass these urban legend emails around passing them off as actually events.. i got one sent to me.
it talks about how this one sister was dying she wanted to be buried with a fork in her hand because when she was at these congo get togethers they would say to keep your fork because dessert is coming.
just remember to 'keep your fork' .

Thanks, Loosie!!
I'd forgotten this old chestnut. I remember being told about this and thinking that it probably wasn't true. -

riverofdeceit,
Sorry about your dog. I love golden retrievers. Budgies are budgerigars, (Australian members of the parrot family). -

Maybe it will upset them, maybe they will just discard...
by Crumpet init is my parents wedding anniversary saturday and every year since i left i have always sent them a card.
i wondered whether i should or not this year.
on balance i wasn't sure what would upset them more - waiting for a card that never came, or receiving a card at all, especially since i said in december that i wouldn't "bother" them anymore.. anyway it felt right to send a card so i did and i decided to put a little note inside, folded and bearing the message: "my news, but don't read it if you aren't interested".

Crumpet, I am about to face the same dilemma over sending an anniversary card to my parents.
My parents did not send us an anniversary card this year for the first time, but I plan on sending one to them anyway. I told them in a letter a year ago that I would never shun them, so I will send a card as though nothing has changed.
Putting a separate note with my news inside is something I hadn't thought of. Good idea!
As you say, they can open it or discard it unread. Thanks Crumpet.
